Travel Disruption Insurance
This Travel Disruption Insurance policy (from an A rated Insurer) provides cover for the Travel Organisers’ financial loss in the event:
that their clients cannot recover their losses from any other source where their trip is delayed, cancelled, cut short or extended as a result of Force Majeure.
Force Majeure
Industrial action, strikes, riots & civil commotion. Terrorist Activity, climatic conditions/ acts of nature being an event caused by the following forces of nature that has a catastrophic consequence:
Fire, flood including low or high river waters, earthquake, explosion, tsunami, volcanic eruption, landslide, avalanche, hurricane, cyclone or storm and snow.
What is included in the Travel Disruption policy?

Any non-refundable unused travel, accommodation and holiday services which the Passenger has paid, or are contracted to pay and they are unable to use the travel, accommodation or holiday services, if:
a) the public transport on which the Passenger is booked to travel is delayed for more than 24 hours and no reasonable alternative is offered by the transport company to allow them to reach the contracted destination; or
b) the public transport on which the Passenger is booked to travel is cancelled and an alternative is not provided within 24 hours or, in the case of connecting transport, not provided within a time-frame that allows the Passenger to continue with the original itinerary. -
Any reasonable necessary additional accommodation on a bed & breakfast basis and transport expenses necessarily incurred, up to the standard of the original booking, in reaching the booked destination at any stage of the Trip, including the return home, if:
a) the public transport on which the Passenger is booked to travel is delayed by an insured event and is prevented from departing until the next calendar day and no reasonable alternative is offered by the transport company to allow them to reach the contracted destination; or
b) the public transport on which the Passenger is booked to travel is cancelled and an alternative is not provided within 24 hours or, in the case of connecting transport, not provided within a timeframe that allows the Passenger to continue with the original itinerary. -
Any reasonable additional necessary accommodation on a bed & breakfast basis and transport expenses necessarily incurred, up to the standard of the original booking, if:
a) the Passenger is unable to use any pre-booked/pre-paid accommodation and has to move to other accommodation due to circumstances outside of their control; or
b) the Passenger has to cut short the Trip and return home. - Additional Expenses: reasonable (meaning of a standard similar to that originally booked by the Passenger) additional accommodation and travel expenses if the Passenger’s return journey to their original point of departure is delayed until the next calendar day.
- Any non-refundable unused travel, accommodation and holiday services which your Passenger has paid for a Trip that has been cancelled in its entirety due to a government-mandated travel ban in the Passenger’s destination country being implemented in relation to COVID-19 after the purchase of the ticket(s) preventing travel to the destination.
