What is included in the Travel Disruption policy for Cruise
When your Passenger is forced to abandon the Cruise prior to fifty percent (50)% of the Cruise holiday having been used by the Passenger because:
a) The flight or other transport on which your Passenger was booked to travel to the starting port of their Cruise was cancelled, curtailed or delayed as a direct result of insured causes as follows:
- strike or industrial action, adverse weather or climate conditions, failure of air traffic control systems, disruption to an airport due to interruption of a utility service, fire or accidental damage, or mechanical breakdown, derangement or accident to aircraft or other transport such as sea vessel, coach or train, change of scheduled time or cancellation of the flight or other transport by the flight or other transport provider for more than six (6) hours beyond the intended departure time and that flight or other transport will not arrive in time to allow your Passenger to board their Cruise , or failure to provide alternative flight or other transport to the next port of call of the Cruise; or
- the Cruise is cancelled by the Cruise company as a direct result of strike, industrial action, adverse weather conditions, or mechanical breakdown of the sea vessel which was to be used to provide the Cruise.
Missed Departure on the Outward Journey
Costs incurred on behalf of your Passenger for reasonable additional travelling, accommodation and subsistence (for food and non-alcoholic drinks only) expenses incurred to reach the next available port of call of their Cruise by the most direct alternative route.
a) if your Passenger arrives at the port departure of their Cruise too late to commence the Cruise as a result of the cancellation or curtailment or delay of their flight or other transport to the port of departure of their Cruise as a direct result of insured causes as follows:
- strike or industrial action, adverse weather or climate conditions, failure of air traffic control systems, disruption to an airport due to interruption of a utility service, fire or accidental damage, or mechanical breakdown, derangement or accident to aircraft or other transport such as sea vessel, coach or train, change of scheduled time or cancellation of the flight or other transport by the transport provider for more than six (6) hours.
- beyond the intended departure time and that flight or other transport will not arrive in time to allow your Passenger to board their Cruise, or failure to provide alternative flight or other transport to the next port of call of the Cruise; or the Cruise is cancelled by the Cruise company as a direct result of strike, industrial action, adverse weather conditions, or mechanical breakdown of the sea vessel which was to be used to provide the Cruise.
Missed Departure on the Inward Journey
Should the Cruise arrival into port be delayed which causes your Passenger to miss their inbound flight or other transport to their departure destination at the conclusion of the Cruise.
The Policy will only cover claims where the original flight or other transport schedule shows a minimum four (4) hours from disembarkation from the Cruise ship to the flight or other transport check-in time.
