Travel & General Insurance Services (t&g) was formed in 1983 to offer specialist insurance to the Travel Industry in the UK & Ireland, in response to demand from the Travel sector.

In 1992 The Package Travel, Package Holidays and Package Tours Regulations were implemented in response to the growing popularity of package holidays. t&g worked closely with the Travel Industry to develop suitable insurance products as an Insurer and specialist broker which aligned with the Regulations and their business needs:

In 2020, we expanded our operations into Europe and opened Arcus Solutions, based in France providing travel bonds and surety products across the EU to Ireland, France, Germany, Austria, The Netherlands, Belgium, Sweden and Norway

Today, we issue bonds for more Tour Operators and Travel Agents than any other UK insurer focused on the Travel Industry. Over 900 Travel clients choose t&g’s and Arcus Solutions insurance services.

90% of our clients renew with us each year and we believe that part of our underwriting success is a result of the personal interest we take in getting to know our clients and their business. Understanding our clients’ businesses allows us to take account of their future bonding requirements.

Our clients benefit from working directly with us or through our network of specialist travel industry brokers and consultants. We work closely with the UK regulators ABTA, ABTOT, ATOL and RSP.

We underwrite a large volume of ABTA bonds, are a preferred ABTA Partner and speak regularly at ABTA Conferences & Events. ABTA also accepts topp, our Financial Failure Insurance as financial protection scheme for its membership.

t&g underwrites ABTOT Bonds and topp, our Financial Failure Insurance is accepted by ABTOT as an alternative to the ABTOT Bond for selected Members.

We work closely with the CAA. We  underwrite ATOL Bonds and speak to the CAA regularly about ATOL reform.

We continue to operate as a specialist broker and have a portfolio of over two hundred liability and other specialised business insurance clients.

t&g operate as a Managing General Agent vested with underwriting authority by Hiscox Insurance Company Limited and in 2022, we became an MGA for Accelerant Insurance Europe SA (A rated Insurers) as well.
